Write A Limerick And Win A Day’s WPF Training

A while ago I wrote about some very inexpensive WPF training by Patrick Long that The .NET Developer Network are running on Wednesday 31st October 2008. There are still a few places left and you can get the details here. Well, the good news is that ’inexpensive’ has become ’free’ for one person as you can now win a place on the course because those party people, The Next Generation User Group, are running a competition and the prize is a place on the WPF Training Day. The competition details are here. All you have to do is write a limerick with the following first line:-
There was an MVP called Guy
No, I didn’t have a hand in setting this task - I found out about it when Dave told me after they recorded podcast 41.

So get writing and try to leave me with some dignity... (although I suspect that the winner will be the one that does the exact opposite).

There was an MVP called Guy

Whose book about Internationalization was welcomed in Shanghai.

In the south-west, he created the dotnetdevnet user group,

Which is proving to be a great scoop.

He’s an MVP, of that we can’t deny.

Now look what you’ve started!

There was an MVP called Guy

Who had an interest in Popfly

Or was it Silverlight?

To be honest, both might overexcite

But I know Guy, he’ll give both a try.

There was an MVP called Craig
Who said "XML and TDD are all the rage"
"You’ve got to give them a try, forget this Popfly"
"And drag your unit testing into the space age".

There was an MVP called Craig
Who had trouble getting his limericks to scan
His lines had too many beats, but at least they did rhyme
Which is more than can be said for this one.
